> Update Notes
Well, this could be the thing you all have been waiting for.
Planner 2000 has two new features, editing function and file
size indicator!

> Description
Planner 2000 is the best organizer I have ever developed. I
think it is pretty decent for a BASIC program. It can keep
track of homework for up to 4 different classes. I intended
this program to be a homework organizer, but you can use it
to keep track of almost anything.

> Features
- Up/down scrolling
- Editing function
- Up to 4 folders
- File size indicator
- Customized naming of classes
- Install/Uninstall capability
- Includes a cleanup program to save precious memory.

> Zipped Files Included
Planner.83p/8xp - Planner 2000 v2.71
Varfree.83p/8xp - Needed to clean variables.
Planner.txt - Documentation you're reading.

> Hardware Requirements
A TI-83 or TI-83 Plus
A TI-Graph Link or equivalent (recommended, it's not fun
typing in the commands yourself, you will most likely
make a mistake, trust me.)

> Variable Requirements/Notice
Planner 2000 uses Str1-8 to store info, and Str9 as a data
buffer. PrgmVARFREE deletes ALL and I mean ALL real
variables A-Z and Theta, all Lists L1-L6, Str9-0, and all
Y= equations. I intended this because I wanted a program to
clean up everything after I was done. Please do not change
this program unless you absolutely have to. Some old BASIC
games still use variables to store their data, and unless
they improve their storage system and store data to lists,
as I have done, then your games could possibly lose data.
Besides, if you're still playing old BASIC games, switch to
ASM! Much better graphics and a lot faster too.

> Installation
Send Planner.8xg to your TI-83 Plus or Planner.83g to your
TI-83. To send to your calculator using the Graph-Link
software, select [Link|Send To|RAM] for the TI-83 Plus or
[Link|Send] for the TI-83. Run prgmPLANNER and follow the
setup instructions.

> Directions
On the first run, it will prompt you to install. Select it,
and setup your classes/folders. It will ask you for the
folder names, which should be your class name. It can be up
to 16 characters. To enter new homework or edit existing
homework, enter the class you wish and select "NEW/EDIT".
You can then type and/or edit your homework. Press enter
when you are done. To view or erase homework, enter the
class you wish and select either "VIEW" or "ERASE". In the
options menu, you can change the names of your classes, and
if you wish, you can uninstall Planner 2000 when you will
not be using it. Uninstalling Planner 2000 will only delete
all folders and their contents, not the program itself.
Anytime you wish to reinstall Planner 2000, just run it
again.

> My Own Notes About Planner 2000
When you type in homework or any plans in Planner 2000,
please be sure to use only single character letters and/or
symbols. The scrolling effect does not work well when you
use characters such as sin( or e^(. The way my scrolling
system is set up will not display the contents of your
folders correctly if you do use it. To see exactly what I
mean, in a folder, create a new task, and type in a bunch
of numbers that will overflow the screen. Somewhere in
between the numbers, use the sin( function. When you're
done, view it and see what happens when you scroll.

> Anticipated Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I have to uninstall Planner 2000 and send the new
version to my calculator for it to work?
A: Absolutely not. As long as my program does not have any
major changes, you can always send the new version to
your without any problems. Just select the Overwrite
option in the TI-Graph Link software, and continue to
use it as normal. This saves you the trouble of having
   to uninstall and reinstall again.

Q: Can Planner 2000 be made to run in AShell/SOS?
A: Yes, but it is not recommended. If you do run it in a
shell be careful about pressing ON or doing something
illegal that will break a program, like typing the ->
key in a task. The shell can possibly "eat" up memory,
which is irrecoverable. You would have to reset your
calculator if you wanted that precious memory back.

Q: Why don't you make Planner 2000 with a graphical
   interface instead of text?
A: I wish, but that is too complicated. It is already big
enough as it is, and I have made it as nice and user
friendly as possible. I have thought about making one,
but it would be too hard for me to implement a text
scrolling system on the drawing screen.

Q: Will there be an assembly version of Planner 2000?
A: Maybe. I heard that someone just recently released a
program that converts BASIC programs into ASM, which
might be very useful. Unfortunately, the program is
still in its development stage, and cannot assemble my
routines properly. Maybe if I learn ASM then I could.

THIS PROGRAM MAY NOT BE CHANGED OR CLAIMED BY ANYONE IN
ANYWAY, PARTS OR WHOLE. THOSE WHO WISH TO MAKE A PROGRAM
THAT FOLLOWS MY MODEL OR INCLUDES ANY PART OF MY PROGRAM,
OR EVEN REWRITE MY PROGRAM IN ASSEMBLY, PLEASE CONTACT ME
FIRST. THANK YOU!
